The Luxembourg Automobility Cluster (LAC) is supporting members, as well as new investors, with a wide range of services focused on 5 main areas:

1) Automotive campus

The LAC is an active participant in a working group consisting of project initiators and stakeholders that are investigating the feasibility of this project.  The LAC also maintains close contact with other clusters and Automotive Campus organizations in order to share best practices and collect feedback and advices.

2) Competence mapping, competence creation

  • In-depth analysis of existing competencies and expertise within companies (cross-cluster approach)
  • Identify technology synergies and cooperation potential between companies
  • Identify technology megatrends in global automotive markets
  • Match megatrends with regional competences and identify sectorial growth potentials
  • Define technology strategy supported by collaborative R&D projects developing new competences
  • Participation in various congresses & seminars

3) Operational excellence

  • Develop operational & innovation effectiveness to increase competitiveness and speed to market
  • Exchange of best practices through workshops
  • Intensify collaboration with public research and universities on fundamental research topics

4) Recruitment, training & education

  • Identify common needs in training & education
  • Organize shared training sessions on behalf of members
  • Support Luxembourg based companies at regional job fairs (LAC promotion)
  • Secure knowledge-base cluster and ensure human capital availability

5) Business development

  • Business intelligence – Sectorial business development
  • Development of sectorial programs in trade missions
  • Participation in sector specific “technical” missions
  • Organize common booth at international trade fairs
  • Promote Luxembourg Automotive in targeted regions
  • Connect new investors with potential local R&D partners

The work on the focus areas is carried out through internal Cluster workshops. Within the confidentiality of a dedicated working group, Cluster members exchange best practice and company-specific, business-related challenges. Together, they generate ideas for further improvement as well as for actions to be carried out in the next stage of their cooperation. In addition, the Cluster organises and participates in company visits, national and international events, sectorial missions and trade missions, which are all related to the 5 focus areas and their current status.
